Coast Happenings

We had a lovely time at the coast...Got down there wednesday afternoon late and returned home sunday.  Thanksgiving was great...got to follow mom around so we can have her turkey and dressing :)  it was delicious.  She has a new stove and it worked great!  Ashley learned how to make chocolate pie since Uncle Monte wasn't there to cook it for us!  Sean made chocolate chip cookies as that was his choice of dessert...they were wonderful too.  Still with the crud, but went for short walks in hopes that it would help me get over whatever this awful stuff is...today it is going on 9 days...ugh.  Saw Tammy and Haley for a bit, their condo paint job looks great, its such a darling place...I didn't get many photos taken but Tammy shared a few and mom took some so hopefully I'll get ahold of those too...   Did not knit...felt to cruddy...can't believe it...
Saturday we went to a few garage sales and I got a beautiful quilt...for a bargain...so excited... We also went to the craft fair and had a great time there...bought a few Christmas gifts, woohoo!

Leaves and more leaves

I dug out a wip to finish for a Christmas gift. Was disappointed to see that I had only knit 4 out of 36 leaves. So I've been knitting leaves and am now sewing them together so they are beautiful 2 sided leaves. Ugh. Pattern is sunflower by Susan Pandorf. Will be pretty when finished but I won't be knitting anything with leaves for awhile. Yarn is my handspun.
Went back to work today. Uncomfortable sitting etc. And the allergy crud that has hit me doesn't help. But I survived!

Kid n ewe purchases

Finally photos of my kid n ewe purchases. Had a lovely time in Boerne with mom and Ashley. Enjoyed the booths and the weather and had some amazing pizza for lunch with Rebecca. My purchases are from Butterfly Girl and Alisha Goes Around. The orange batt us for Ashley, we made it at the Butterfly Girl booth. The yarn will go with. Need to come up with a clever scarf idea for Ashley.

It's been a long road

With a trip back in in-between. What happened to all that knitting time I thought id have? Have had some great nurses while here at methodist hospital. Some great visitors. However I do miss my latte this morning. Gotten to taste some. Good food ordered out to Paulson pizza and Sun-Sun restaurant here very good. Jennife brought yummy potpies fro Marie calendars. Mostly sleeping around here with a touch of knitting or playing on my iPod knitting an Analone out of some beautiful hamdspun that I spun awhile back

never forget how you made them feel.

Lot's of stuff going through my mind...but relaxed...feeling blessed...loved...and very thankful for all the beautiful gifts the Lord has given me and the blessings of so many beautiful people in my life.  Going to miss my kids the next few days but know that this will make me feel like a new person...and give me a chance for health and happiness...Women are funny and amazing...I wrote a note to my fav  yahoo group, you know  who  you are...about the upcoming hysterectomy and got so many awesome replies...truly an awesome group of gals...the BEST.  Last night an old and very dear friend said in her own crazy voice (I could hear it even thought we were texting)  "YOU ARE GOING TO LOVE IT"  heee, now that isn't exactly what I was thinking but she sure shook me up and made me think...oh to be more like Kathy and hit the world with her attitude...I think when I'm starting fresh next week I'll work on that...  Love you girl...  Had a great time at the lake this weekend...peace and relaxation...God is good...now into His hands...he'll take good care.

Week 1 Bernat CAL

My square are larger than they should be but I wouldn't like a tighter fabric.

Bernat Mystery Afghan CAL

Woo hoo. It started yesterday and my yarn came in today. Am using colors that will go with Atlanta Braves for my son. My nephew was drafted by them this summer and Sean's been wanting me to knit him something in those colors! I'm really excited As it will be starting off simple and then get a little more difficult as it goes along. Bernat Softee Chunky.

I HATE CANCER!!!

I hate it, I really do...   A very dear friend, father, christian  is with our Lord right now, in Paradise, where there is no pain, no fear...just peace and calm and our Lords loving arms wrapped around him.  It's great for dear Bill, but I am just so mad at this disease...there are beautiful children and an amazing wife left behind.  Kids that have to grow up without there father's wonderful energy and good teaching.  A little girl who is the same age as I was when my dad died.  I know what my mom struggled with and know Anne will be going through the same things...It's just so hard when you know someone you admire so much will have to go on without her love and helper in life.  I know Bill is in a good place, like my dad and Gerry my fil...but damn it...  Hug your kids, tell them how much you love them...give them those words of wisdom that you want them to know...You never know when the good Lord will need you with Him.  Bill will add some excitement to heaven and will be rarin' to go to work...so keep an eye out for our newest angel in heaven
Here is one of my very first scrapbook pages, years ago, when Christian was their only child...Big Bend...we had the best of times!

Labor Day

Ashley and I had a chance to escape to the lake Sunday afternoon. Mom and Donald were there. Monte, Stacy, and the kids were there. It was great sitting in the dock drinking Lone Star Lite longnecks and visiting. Of course there were a million boats zooming around, rocking the dock in every direction but it was still good. Monte grilled burgers and we had birthday cake to celebrate Donald's birthday. Later Michael and Sean came up after a day of dove hunting at the farm. We spent the night and the weather was nice for sleeping on the porch. Today we tie-dyed tee shirts. Fun fun fun! Heading back after we eat so we'll be ready for school and work tomorrow.

another monday

Another week has begun. I'm at the store this morning trying to figure out what's up with the computer, the phone, and what needs to be ordered. I got the register working. That is good. Figured out which phone was working, that is also a good thing. Now if we can get all the lines changes over that will be even better! It is time for hunters to buy new licenses and thankfully the new rule books came in. So I think I'm set now.
I watched Shutter Island the other day, very different movie...but I enjoyed it lol they had me convinced! I have the movie Amelia on now while I'm puttering around the liquor store. Very good so far! I love Netflix. Don't know what I'd do without it. Especially the watch immediately in my computer! Anywho enough is enough. See ya later

Finished object and cal

I'm going to join in on the Bernat CAL that is starting on sept 22.
I'll probably go through my stash and knit in wool. It is supposed to start out simple and get more difficult as it goes. I love learning new stitches in both knitting and crochet so I think it will be fun. If you want to join in go to http://blog.bernat.com
Wonder what I have to work with.
My finished garden stake from the painted plate. Love the way it turned out!

Graduation and baseball

Life has been full of both. Last weekend Michael and I went to Oklahoma city to watch William play in the big 12 tournament. He pitched a wonderful game but they lost to the aggies. It really was a great experience, i'm so glad we went

This weekend I've been in front of the computer watching them at regionals at tcu. Michael is headed to the airport this morning in hopes to see him pitch. Go bears !!!
Friday night I went to devyns graduation party. It was very nice. Fun to see everyone. And Devyn was beaming with happy! Last night I went to see Devyn, Aimee, and Brett graduate. Tons of other great kids I know too . All were happy and beaming.

Today, the kids serve at church and then I'll be back in front of the computer again rooting the bears on!

Guess where I am

Yep, it's a work night at the bottle shop!

Holy cow!!!!!!!!!

I just filled a prescription that cost
$100.00 with insurance. Yikes! Have been on the computer trying to learn more about Ibs (irrital bowel syndrome). Went to a gastro dr yesterday and she was great. I hope we will be able to get things under control. But changing diet, walking, will try this drug but the price and the side effects scare me.

Wow, what a weekend. We left for Waco on friday, and we to the Friday night baseball game. Awesome game, oh my gosh totally exciting. We won and there were lots of happy faces to be seen after the game. Went by Williams apt. After the back to the hotel for bed. Saturday morning went and had an awesome breakfast then I went back for a nap while Michael went and helped to move Alicia. Went to the bookstore and bought a few shirts and tried to get a look at the bears but they were hiding in the shade. Time for the game. The presentation of Williams diploma and introduction of seniors was cool. Josh came to surprise William. It couldn't have been better I thought and then Willie got to pitch and did an awesome job! The guys played great and won this game too. An awesome time. Went to willies fir BBQ after and it was yummy! oh I got to meet Kristen, Williams girlfriend. Really cute and down to earth. Anywho it was an emotional weekend. Will miss seeing my Baylor boys play ball in that wonderful stadium. But who knows what the future may hold...
